After a few days, Ali was walking near the same soil bed when he suddenly stopped.

“Wait… what is this?” he said in surprise.

Tiny green plants were growing from the soil!

He rubbed his eyes and looked again.

“There was nothing here before… how did plants suddenly appear?”

His younger brother Hamza was sitting nearby and smiled.

“Don’t you remember?” Hamza said.
“You were eating watermelon here a few days ago and you threw the seeds on the ground!”

Ali paused for a moment… then slowly remembered.

“Oh! So these plants grew from that seed?”

Hamza nodded. “Yes! The rain helped the seed go into the soil, and the sunlight gave it energy to grow.”

Hamza explained in a simple way:

“When a seed gets water, sunlight, air, and soil, it starts growing into a new plant. This process is called germination.”

He added:
